The Australasian College for Emergency Medicine (ACEM) is delighted to invite you to submit your abstract for consideration for an oral and/or poster presentation at the 34th Annual Scientific Meeting of the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine (ACEM ASM 2017), ‘Impossible is just a Perspective’.
To view a list of some of the topics that will be covered within the Meeting program, please click here. All abstracts will be reviewed by the Scientific Program Committee. Submitting authors will be asked to indicate all co-authors, but the presenting author should submit the abstract.
Presenting authors must be paid registrants at the Meeting.
Please note: All abstracts must be submitted online via the Meeting website using the online submission form and there may only be one presenting author per abstract.

Important Information Regarding Abstract Submission
- Please read through the submission instructions listed below before preparing your abstract.
- Read the Submission Requirements and Policies for the submission of abstracts.
- If you wish to be considered for an award, please click here for further information on eligibility.
- Please ensure you are registered for the Meeting prior to 13 September 2017.
- All authors are required to create an author account here to submit their Abstract and/or Workshop proposal.
Submission Instructions for Preparing and Formatting Your Abstract(s)
- In the submission portal, write the abstract title in the field provided using sentence case letters.
- Prepare a word document (.doc or .docx) stating the topic/issue being addressed, background, objectives, method, and the main findings and principle conclusions. Please refer to the Submission Requirements and Policies for more information on abstract content.
- Font type and size for the abstract text: Calibri, 10.5pt left justified.
- Use only the given space with a maximum of 250 words.
- Use standard abbreviations only. Within the body of the abstract, when using abbreviations spell out the name in full at the first mention and follow with the abbreviation in parenthesis. Abbreviations may be used in the title, provided the name in full is outlined in the body of the abstract.
- Capitalise the first letter of trade names.
- All abstracts will be reviewed by the ACEM ASM 2017 Scientific Program Committee for acceptance.
How to submit your abstract(s)
- Click the blue ‘submit abstract’ button below to commence your submission.
- Abstract submissions will only be accepted via the Meeting Website and in the above format.
- You will be asked to create an account for the Meeting. Please remember your password in case you need to access it again to make any changes to your submission.
- Enter your paper title in the ‘Paper Details’ section.
- Upload your abstract in a .doc or .docx format, following the format used in the abstract submission template.
- List all authors and their affilliations in the correct order, ensuring you indicate the presenting author for the abstract.
- Select your abstract theme as applicable to your abstract.
- Indicate your preferred presentation type.
- Click ‘Preview and Submit’. You will be able to preview your abstract and make any changes if required.
- While on the preview window, click ‘Submit’ to confirm your submission
Once submitted
The principal submitting author will be notified of the results of the review of abstracts by 26 July 2017.
